The IHCHR member, Dr. Ali Al-Bayati, called on the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to intervene urgently to rescue Iraqi families expelled by the Hungarian authorities out of the borders.
He said that “The Hungarian authorities expelled Iraqi families outside the borders of the country after refusing asylum applications, deprived them of the most basic rights and left them without shelter or food, despite these families have children” based on an information received by the IHCHR. Dr.-Al-Bayati noted that the presence of families in European territory and the inhuman treatment of the Hungarian authorities is in violation of Article (3) of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Dr. Al-Bayati demanded the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene urgently through the Iraqi Embassy in Budapest in order to rescue and protect the Iraqi families exiled outside the border.
